Journeying to One of My Past Adventures

As the title of this blog explains, I will take you with me into the past so that I can share with you one of my original travel destinations while living outside of America. The events of this travel blog take place just a little bit before the trip to Paris that I describe in my first blog post on this website.

In Fall 2023, I traveled to Germany to originally attend a retreat. Due to logistical reasons on my end, it didn’t work out for me to attend the retreat, but I am thankful for the opportunity. I appreciate the people who run the retreat, and I hope to go to another retreat soon.

Even though it didn’t work out for me to attend the retreat that time, I at least got to explore part of Germany. I mainly just explored the Frankfurt area, but it was fun because I at least got to see different aspects of the city, such as many historic WWII sites and indoor markets.

In addition to the WWII sites and indoor markets, I also got to see the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on my tour of Frankfurt. I wish I took more pictures during my trip, but if I go back in the near future, I’ll definitely document my time there a bit more as I was mainly soaking in the environment around me and didn’t use my camera for too much.

It’s worth mentioning that I got to try authentic German pretzels at a Christmas market, a popular festive market in Frankfurt that starts before the Christmas holiday and adds an extra bit of cheer and brightness to the city.

Thank you for journeying with me in this blog post to my earliest travel destination while living abroad in Spain. I know it’s a bit of a short blog post, but I only spent about 1.5 days in Germany, the rest of the weekend included the travel time from Tenerife to Germany and from Germany back to Tenerife. I can’t wait to share more pictures and information with you whenever I travel back to Germany, and I also can’t wait to share my next blog post with you :)
