Gems of Paris

Dear Reader,

My main New Year’s resolution for 2023 was to be more spontaneous. This stemmed from my thought at the time that I had been living a lifestyle lacking in excitement or adventure. So, to fix that notion, I decided that I needed to practice stepping outside of my comfort zone. However, to do so, I realized that I needed to start making reservations to travel ASAP.

To decide where I wanted to travel, I conducted research on my computer to discover the top tourist destinations around Europe and monuments in those countries that would be worth visiting. After a bit of research, I created my bucket list of 50 destinations that I hope to travel to over the next 50 years. Paris was one of the destinations on my bucket list.

Near the end of 2023, which was when I traveled to Paris for a quick weekend-long trip, I had the pleasure of visiting the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Following my time in Paris, I took a trip to London, which I’ll discuss in the next blog post.

Both of the monuments in Paris were more amazing than I could’ve imagined. I actually had the opportunity to climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe through tickets that I reserved. In a separate article I will dive into all of the travel websites I use to turn my travel dreams into a reality so that you can do the same! :)

The one aspect about my time in Paris that I wish could’ve been different is the fact that the Catacombs were closed during the days that I happened to be in Paris. It’s all good, though. I can save that adventure for my next visit to Paris, whenever that might be.

If you have the financial means to do so, and you want to have an adventure to look back on, travel this weekend. It doesn’t have to be to a different country, even traveling to a neighboring city can be an exciting activity. Maybe there’s this really cool attraction you want to see or monument you want to visit or hike you want to complete either inside or outside of your neighboring city or town - go for it! :)

Best wishes,

Bryce
