My Top 3 Restaurant Recommendations for Your Vacation/Holiday in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Hey everyone! Welcome to this article! :) Maybe you’re here because you’ve decided to make the journey to Santa Cruz de Tenerife for a few days of vacationing, or maybe you’re just an interested viewer/reader (No pasa nada :)), and you’re looking for the best spots to stop by for some quick fuel for your days of adventuring! Well, either way, this is the blog post for you! Even if you’re not vacationing/on holiday (Differing terminology depending on where you live in the world) and you’re a local, these are my top tier restaurants in Santa Cruz de Tenerife after living here for almost 7 months (March 20th will be exactly 7 months).
Also, it’s important to note that the order that these restaurants are listed in this blog post doesn’t correlate with my overall ranking of them. In other words, the restaurant that I talk about first isn’t necessarily leaps and bounds better than the restaurants that follow the first restaurant in this blog post, all of these restaurants are great in their own ways and are all top tier restaurants. I literally can’t decide the bronze, silver, and gold medal recipients between these three restaurants.
1.) La Grotta
La Grotta, is an amazing Italian restaurant. It takes only a few minutes to walk from La Grotta to Plaza Weyler, which is basically the actual heart of the city center zone, so just like my other two restaurants in this blog post, it is settled in a prime location for those who are locals and those who are just visiting Santa Cruz de Tenerife as their vacation/holiday.
One of the most amazing things about La Grotta is the customer service quality. Every time I’ve gone there in the nearly seven months that I’ve been living here, I’ve been treated like family. The service is fast and attentive, and literally right as I walk through the door, even if I haven’t visited the restaurant in weeks, they still remember my regular order, so it’s a super awesome restaurant.
I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant because every time that I’ve been there it’s been great. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is great in that it gives off the general coziness that your local coffee shop might also do.
The architecture is similar to the somewhat modern design that you’d see in American coffee shops/cafes, which is why I said above that La Grotta gives off the comfy coffee shop vibes.
2.) Taquería el 48
Taquería el 48, is a restaurant with Mexican cuisine that is located directly across the Santa Cruz de Tenerife metro tracks from Teatro Guimerá. It is honestly really cool that you get to experience the metro speed right by you as you’re sitting down at the restaurant. The metro train being so close really contributes to the realization of just exactly how lively the city is.
On a different note, this restaurant is also located basically 2 small streets away or a three-minute walk away from Calle Castillo, which is the main shopping/retail area (Basically it is equivalent to the Las Vegas Strip and around Times Square for Las Vegas and New York City) in the city center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Calle Castillo (Castle Street) hosts the majority of the types of businesses that I mentioned are present in the city center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in a previous article.
3.) Panadería Granier Weyler
Panadería Granier Weyler, is a cafe and bakery that is located in a prime location. It is near Plaza Weyler, so for people staying in the city center it is a good place to stop for a quick morning coffee and/or pastry. A metro station platform for Plaza Weyler and a Plaza Weyler bus stop are also located directly across from this cafe, making transportation around Santa Cruz extremely easy if you don’t want to walk around too much. A lot of taxis are parked around that area as well, so if you don’t want to take the public transportation or walk, it’s all good.
The three restaurants above are three of my top restaurants in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and I’m glad that I got to share them with you. :) If you’re ever in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, definitely visit these restaurants.
Thank you for reading my blog post! I can’t wait to share the next one with you! :)
